Since it doesn't seem likely that we increase the pool of candidates by 
stretching the process and wait a bit longer, I am in favor of option 1. 
As recent experience with the voting on the charter shows, it is 
difficult to get people interested enough to vote at all. So, we should 
not make things more complicated than necessary.
