Ian Peter certainly was an Internet pioneer.

We live in the same area and met for coffee now and then. Among many
other things, we discussed his activism in protecting local rainforest
and those early networks to share information with the wider community.

Ian was a kind, compassionate person with a towering intellect and a
strong belief in social justice. He will be sorely missed.

His hard work in Internet governance and for 'the last billion' is to be
celebrated.

Vale Ian Peter.
