I am pleased to invite you to the Assurance and Transparency in ICT Supply Chain Security Workshop at the U.N. Internet Governance Forum. The EastWest Institute<https://www.eastwest.ngo/> is organizing this workshop in cooperation with the Association des Utilisateurs des Systèmes d’Information au Maroc<https://www.ausimaroc.com/>, the ICT Authority of Kenya<https://icta.go.ke/> and Kaspersky<https://www.kaspersky.com/>.
Description
Ensuring security in global supply chains is critical to ensuring trust in ICT and the future of the digital society. Today’s ICT products and services are comprised of a multitude of software, hardware, and service components, which are produced by a large number of manufacturers, vendors and service operators from around the globe, making the security of supply chains and the mitigation of third-party risk a daunting task.
With a focus on the Global South and emerging markets as well as small and medium-sized businesses, this interactive workshop will shed light on challenges and developments in supply chain security assurance and transparency. Participants will discuss approaches to strengthen risk mitigation and trust in ICT supply chains including:
* Assessing ICT supply chain risk and the threat landscape
* Building confidence in ICT supply chains through assurance and transparency measures
* Closing the ICT supply chain security capacity and competence gap
A detailed description of the workshop and background materials are available on the IGF website<https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/igf-2020-ws-176-assurance-and-transparency-in-ict-supply-chain-security>.
