[governance] Overdue IGC Co-coordinator Elections and Request for Update on Website/ Was Re: Who are the IGC Co-coordinators?

Dear All,

1.The IGC's first priority should be in electing a new co-coordinator to
replace the vacancy from 2017. 2 years has lapsed which is substantial
delay.

2.The conflict stemming from several discussions lie in ignorance of the
IGC charter which could have easily been avoided if the coordinators
delivered the website in 2017 as was promised then. The website also
contains a record of members.

3.Jeremy has offered to pay for IGC website hosting. It follows that Bruna
needs to find someone to build the website.

4. It is not good practice to have a single coordinator as two are needed
to reason, and work together. Bruna cannot be expected to do things alone
hence the need to accelerate the overdue electoral process.

5. In terms of the electoral process, if Bruna is struggling, a call may be
put to the Community to recommend a neutral entity or create a platform to
conduct the elections.

6.It is the height of irony to desire to put external civil society
coordination, before cleaning up our organisational mess and getting our
coordinators in place.

7.Delaying the elections to November means that we will be calling for both
coordinators replacements as Bruna rotates out once call is issued and
there is no sustainability as is why one would rotate out one year and the
other the next.

8.As has been the practice, we engage in discussion on the list until we
reach consensus which is the role of the coordinators to facilitate.

With best wishes,
Sala
