The CSCG process is one of endorsement NOT selection. CS nominees seeking
endorsement from a coalition of civil society coalitions were invited to
present themselves to the CSCG Nomcom by 9th December. The decision on who
should be endorsed is underway at the moment.

The SELECTION of all MAG members is the prerogative of the Secretary
General of the United Nations. UNDESA acts on behalf of the Secretary
General in inviting nominations from all stakeholders and facilitating the
process with the assistance of the IGF secretariat. This process is open to
all with a deadline tomorrow. The application form is available here
<http://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/mag-nominations-2017>
Civil society nominees presenting themselves also to the CSCG for
endorsement is an entirely voluntary process, and there is no guarantee
that such endorsements will be accepted. Civil society members may be
selected for the MAG without going through the CSCG endorsement process.
I hope this is clearer now. Please contact me, directly if you wish, if you
still have questions.
Best wishes

(Temporary IGC representative on the current CSCG Nomcom)
