Actually the point of ICANN and its pundits IS TO ENSURE 
self-supervision... now they tried that in the financial sector... and 
if that is anything to go by, well then as bush said, if you fool me 
once, shame on you if you fool me 2x then errrr.... some things in the 
US are just so inimitable ;) which is why they are so inscrutable....
