Indeed,  though I also tend to think of .net as being appropriate for any network structure, even an overlay network, something that was not really a focus back then but something I tend to think of in terms of my technical research.

So I can imagine appropriate use for igcaucus.net.  

However, the reason I have it is that I am an impulse buyer, and when I was checking out with igcaucus.org, they offered me .net.  
And I took it.
