Dear all,

Feel free to forward this message!

- Short: Civil society groups working in digital rights could get
excluded from the G20 negotiations on digitalistion. To prevent
this, please take part in their 'civil society consultation',
and raise the importance of having the G20 discussing your
      expertise digital issues:

http://civil-20.org/consultation/

Password:: C20Consultation
Deadline: tomorrow Wednesday 14th

- Long: The G20 presidency announced their plan to focus on digital,
and the OECD launched a dialogue to foster their digitalisation
project in that context. CSISAC was invited to take part in the
OECD-G20 dialogue, and we will be taking that opportunity to
foster the Civil Society Goals there.

In addition, the G20 has a 'civil society process' called 'C20'
which runs in parallel with the labor unions ('L20'), the
business ('B20') and others. The only information we have about
the governance of the C20 is their webpage (link above). In
order to shape the topics of the C20 process, they have launched
that consultation; surprisingly, no reference is made to any
digital issue. That is concerning: if the C20 excludes anything
related with digitalisation, CSISAC and the digital rights
groups could be factually excluded from a G20 process where
digitalisation is planned to be a focus issue. A risk exists
that no civil society groups at all take part in the G20
process to share their expertise about the digital issues.

As the topics of the C20 are to be decided based on that online
consultation, the most inmediate step at this point is to take
part and raise the importance of the digital issues: privacy,
        internet governance, security, IoT, multi-stakholderism,
universal access, affordability, community networks, robotics,
job displacement, consumer protection... all the issues that
should be on the G20 table. Consultation link and passwd above.

Just please feel free to directly let me know about any doubt or
information that you could have.

Best,

--
