Dear all,

There have been many beautiful and heartfelt tributes to Ian Peter shared
here and on other threads. Please find a message from Bruna and I as co-cos.

*Kind, dedicated, passionate, deeply caring, respectful, warm,
compassionate, sharp, wise are just a few of the words used to describe the
person Ian Peter was. He played a pioneering role in internet development
and governance, including as a dedicated member of the IGC, and was always
incredibly helpful to us as co-coordinators. As has been mentioned by many,
his unwavering commitment to the cause and to social justice more generally
was evident through his impressive record of work. His legacy to the field
is clear and will live on, but just as important, are the lives he touched
because of the person he was. As co-cos, Bruna and I benefited from Ian’s
experience, knowledge and his open character enormously. *


*We feel his absence and will always be grateful for all the support he
generously provided. It was suggested that we organise a call to share
tributes and to send a letter to Ian’s family. If this is of interest, we
can organise a call at 1 PM UTC in early February and we can share a
doodle. For those who can’t attend, we can share a doc to collaborate
around to write the suggested letter. *
