[Governance] Platform Glossary Website

I hope you and your families are doing well, in this - unfortunately - still pandemic period.

Some participants to the event and follow-up discussions suggested the interest of creating a dedicated website for the Platform Glossary, to facilitate referencing and updating this unique research outcome produced by the IGF Coalition on Platform Responsibility.

We have been beta testing the website and everything has been running smoothly in our tests, but should you note any technical glitch, please feel free to get in touch. We plan to present this website alongside other Coalition works at the IGF later this year.

They are important works not only for the themes they discuss but also because they have been elaborated through an open and participatory process by two dynamic coalitions of the IGF (on Platform Responsibility and on Community Connectivity), thus providing evidence that the IGF can be much more than a mere talking shop.

The “Glossary of Platform Law and Policy Terms” includes analyses of 100 essential terms related to digital platforms, offering to policymakers and researchers the conceptual basis on which legal/semantic interoperability between different systems framing platform governance can be built. The volume on “Community Networks: Towards Sustainable Funding Models” explores how alternative Internet access strategies such as community networks can be financially sustainable, sharing case studies, success stories and policy analyses. Both works have been the result of incredible team works for which I would like to sincerely thank all co-editors a long list of stellar co-authors (especially for having respected very challenging schedules all along the pandemic), many of which are on this list.
