Grateful if the Governance list admin allows me to share this important
statement with others on the list. Thanks.

Dear colleagues and friends
As you know, the State of California's Department of Fair Employment and
Housing (DFEH) sued Cisco Systems accusing the company of allowing its
employees to practice caste and discriminate against colleagues based on
caste.
Casteism in Silicon Valley has been a source of discrimination against
Dalits and so-called "low" caste Indian Americans, Indians and South
Asians.
Ambedkar King Study Circle in San Jose, California is an Ambedkarite and
anti-caste movement is re-launching a long-term campaign to recognise caste
as a source of discrimination - similar to race, gender - and urge
tech-corporations and the State of California to have policies and systems
in place to fight against structural casteism in everyday life and work.
Please find attached the solidarity statement, we have put together, to end
caste practices in Silicon Valley and the US, and do consider signing the
statement (on google doc here
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Cq2jLs3FNtZDNDL-PwRloczZjFdiCrEctWXDj5qAHiQ/edit>)
to join a long-overdue battle.
Please do share this with your colleagues. Many thanks in advance.
Best wishes
