[governance] ICANN to Hold First-Ever Remote Public Meeting

My initial reaction was negative, but the more I consider it, the more I like it. 

Beyond the obvious benefits to health, the environment, and the economy, this democratized the process. It makes it much more difficult for a handful of wealthy companies to monopolize the decision-making processes by putting a $100k/year travel-expense wall in front of everyone else. 

All of the hallway side-meetings, which are always touted as the big benefit of the in-person meetings, benefit insiders disproportionately.  Hypothetically, that too could be democratized with randomized introductions and chat sessions. 

I think it will be interesting.
