Dear colleagues,

Apologies for multiple emails.

Dear colleagues, [apologies for cross posting]
Next Monday, at FGV Law School, we will launch the book Governança e Regulações da Internet na América Latina (Internet Governance and Regulations in Latin America). The book is already available in open access here http://hdl.handle.net/10438/27164
If anyone amongst Carioca friends onlist is interested in joining the book launch, please write me a personal message.
This Portuguese version includes 2 additional chapters (one exploring the new Brazilian Data Protection Law and one dedicated to Platforms Private Regulations) to differentiate it from the Spanish version (also freely available http://hdl.handle.net/10438/24464 ) which was launched at the LACIGF 2018.
The volume is the first collection of opinions by academics, regulators, prosecutors, business representatives and civil society advocates shaping the evolution of Internet governance and regulations in Latin America.
The Portuguese version includes 31 chapters dedicated to Internet infrastructure, connectivity models (including community networks), privacy and cybersecurity, and emerging issues, and it also includes two prefaces, one by Vint Cerf (Google's VP) and one by Raúl Echeberria (ISOC's VP), and an excellent postface by Edison Lanza (OAS Rapporteur for freedom of expression).
The book celebrates the 10th anniversary of the South School on Internet Governance (the main Internet Governance capacity-building initiative in the region) whose 9th edition was organised at FGV, gathering more than 250 experts and fellows https://www.gobernanzainternet.org

The English version of the volume is in the pipeline and will be launched in the upcoming months.

 With my best regards
 Luca
