If not everyday, we can meet atleast two days over lunch to discuss.

Hi Arsène,

I support the remark of Abdeljalil.

Yes, a full day would be great, but as you rightly said, you will not manage to find a day of the IGF period where all Civil Society folks don’t have commitment as Main session or Workshop actors.

The alternative is to have a daily briefing (Lunch time seems to be the most adequate slot). So we can have lunch on the same table and discuss during all days of the IGF.

My 2 cents.

Thanks Abdeldjalil,

That's a good suggestion. I will bring it onboard for discussion though i doubt it will be easy to implement. I also had trouble to be able to come a day prior to the meeting and so did so many other participants.

But for us to have a full day, when the IGF has started will be a huge problem since everyone will already be busy with their schedule.

But, let's see what others think.

Arsene

My first time i attended this joint Civil Society session during IGF Mexico it was very helpful;

But was a big challenge to come and assist 2 days before the beginning of IGF ;

I suggest for the next Session we would do it during the normal days of IGF ( try to see the possibility with IGF secretariat to secure a slot /room ) it will be good and most of member of civil society can joint us ;

Thanks

Cordialement

Dear colleagues,

As some of you will recall, there was a joint civil society meeting that was done ahead of the IGF in Mexico where groups such as the APC, Just Net Coalition, NCSG, Best Bits and the IGC met to discuss some civil society questions and a way to get ready for the main IGF that started later on in Mexico.

I cannot remember how many of the IGC members were there but a good number of civil society folks were. This meeting was considered as a place for CS groups to consider their challenges and get ready for a common voice during the IGF. Did we reach this objective, among others that were casted?

We have started discussing a possibility of having another CS day ahead of the IGF in Geneva and wanted to know what's the feeling here, whether we (IGC) should be part of this initiative this year again.

Please do feel free to share any thoughts, concerns, directions that will help me to better represent the IGC in those discussions. What issues do you think CS folks should discuss? How should we get ready for the upcoming IGF? Note that we will need to define an agenda, call for speakers/participants, etc.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Arsene
