[image: Internet_Society]The next 3 days *January 26-28 2016* provide
multiple opportunities for *Internet Society <http://internetsociety.org>*
members to participate in online events. First and foremost is our *Q1
Community Forum
<http://www.internetsociety.org/events/isoc-q1-community-forum-2016>* on
Wednesday, where *Kathy Brown* will define 2016 as the *Year of Member
Action*, and there will be briefings by top ISOC staff as toward what
issues that action might be directed. Of course some actions cost money, so
on Thursday there will be two *Beyond the Net Info Sessions
<https://www.internetsociety.org/form/fund-your-idea-beyond-net-information-session>*,
which will educate on the processes by which Chapter and Member Projects
can be funded.
On Tuesday our *GIP* colleagues will provide their monthly *Digital Watch
Internet Governance Update
<http://digitalwatch.giplatform.org/events/briefing-internet-governance-january-2016>*,
looking forward at 2016. On Wednesday and Thursday they will mount a major
conference on e-Participation - *Geneva Engage
<http://genevaengage.diplomacy.edu/>* - focusing on the practicalities of
running connected events, and ISOC's own *Todd Tolbert *will weigh in with
lessons learned from the production of ISOC's massive *InterCommunity
<https://www.internetsociety.org/intercommunity2015/home>* event in 2015.
New online tools are changing online collaboration for the better. Already
ISOC has adopted *Zoom <http://zoom.us>* as its conference platform of
choice. Many of us are also using *Slack <http://slack.com>* within our
teams. So lastly, on Thursday, for those interested in seeing how far such
tools can take us, there will be a big *OpenGov & CivicTech Online
Unconference
<https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2016-opengov-civictech-online-unconference-tickets-20428926469>*
using both Slack and Zoom, and also *QiqoChat <http://qiqochat.com/>*.
