Hey there,

Thank you so much for your valuable comments and words of appreciation. I am thankful to have you in this group.

Lorena - yes, I ''e-know'' you and thank you for sharing about the wonderful job the IGF Academy is doing. I do understand/share the challenges of getting funding to attend global IGF (myself not sure yet i will make it to this year's).

So, for your dear fellows, i would love to have them attend our workshop both in person or remotely (through a Hub?) if at all possible. They will be able to provide diversity in our workshop. If you are personally planning to attend the IGF, it will be great if you can join the panel. If there is any other way to include them to ensure diversity, i am open for suggestions.

Jane, thanks for pointing this as well. It will be great to have them attend our event both pysically or/and remotely. If ISOC is able to sponsor some of them to attend the upcoming IGF, that would be great.

Another way to bring more voices will be to invite them to become members of the IGC if they are interested in getting involved in our discussions and work.

I will be sending in a separate email the link to the Google Doc with our workshop proposal where you will have the opportunity to edit and add your inputs. I really look forward to your contributions (based on Secretariat's comments).

Best regards,
A

Together with a few NGOs I created the IGF Academy, where we gathered funding to get 20 fellows from Latin America, Africa and Asia to the IGF and to create or foster local IG structures in their countries. They are mainly civil society and very diverse, some run NGOs, some others are citizen journalists, half of them women, many under 30 years old. So they are experts, but many of them have never been to a UN IGF due to financial difficulties. I read the comments from the MAG about diversity, etc. If there is a way we can help by pointing to any of our fellows, please do come back.
