The WSIS+10 review process does not address the special contributions
that the Internet makes to the Information Society's goals by its
distinctive characteristics.  It solely focuses on ICTs in general and
does not distinguish the open Internet from specialized services or
other types of networks.  The Information Society's performance
measures exhibit the same defect.

The following letter to the UN GIS has been forwarded to the CSTD.  It
offers recommendations to assure that the Information Society project
addresses the relationship between its initiatives and the Internet:
