Hi,

Just to clarify: there are quite a few IXes already up and operational in Africa (e.g., see http://nsrc.org/AFRICA/ixp/).  My understanding is that the IXP in Gambia being referenced in the body of the article is in the process of being developed (part of a joint project between the AU and ISOC) and that the current effort is actually focused on training the IXP operators.
