Greetings everyone
Last week the Kenyan Human Rights Commission, Global Partners and APC
convened a meeting in Nairobi on internet governance and human rights.
The civil society groups were from the human rights, media and ICT sectors.
Attached is the statement that emerged from this workshop. It was a
really good workshop. Several of the participants are on this list so
they can add their own perspectives.
I felt that we discussed important issues without resorting to too much
jargon, or 'knee jerk' responses. People were respectful of one
another's views (and there were diverse views) and everyone left with
more knowledge and a better understanding of the questions/issues around
internet governance and human rights on the internet.
