This is bad protocal. Extending a vote so that you get a referendum of sorts is a tampering with the vote. If the amendment fails then it fails. It is not proper to change the rules in mid process. Could you please site the authority for extending the or a vote.

In order for a Charter amendment vote to be valid, we need almost every single voting member to exercise their right to vote. That means if you are not ill or without an Internet connection, we need you to vote. If you have not voted, please do so NOW. A charter amendment is designed to be a serious task.
