Wiretapped may not be the right word here. But the point is that
since skype is proprietary, it is difficult to know how it operates,
and in particular whether or not it allows interceptions of data.
This fear is increased by the fact that skype uses the P2P
technology, so one doesn't really know through which servers the data
are transmitted.
The French ban on skype in universities and research centers was
issued in Sept. 2005. Right after it was bought by Ebay. ____________________________________________________________
