As a matter of policy (and practicality) would it be possible that those
who nominate someone be responsible for also determining whether they
are available/willing to attend with their own funding?

(My suggestion would be that those for whom this information is not
provided not be considered for nomination.

Geoff is an accomplished "expert" in address allocation and his
knowledge of the current cyberscape is an invaluable asset too
discussions invovling CIR & DNSsec.

He also hosts and maintains real-time reports on AS & IPv4 Address
consumption.
