Internet can be a facilitator for human rights, development, and economic
stability and growth, contributing decisively to human development. At the
same time, cyber-terrorism, online crime, and other forms of Internet
misuse demonstrate how Internet governance remains a challenge in need of
urgent attention.
Microsoft President and Chief Legal Office *Mr* *Brad Smith* will deliver
the keynote speech, and will discuss various aspects of Internet governance
and the proposed Digital Geneva Convention with Deputy High Commissioner
for Human Rights (OHCHR) *Ms* *Kate Gilmore*, and the Head of the
Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to the
United Nations in New York *Mr Phillip Spoerri*.

moderated by Chief of Strategic Planning and Membership Department at the
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) *Ms Doreen Bogdan-Martin*,
while the online discussion will be moderated by Geneva Internet Platform
(GIP) Head *Dr Jovan Kurbalija.*
