<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-US">It is a great pleasure to announce that the <strong>Latin American edition of the </strong></span><strong><span lang="EN">Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (</span></strong><strong><span lang="EN-US">CPDP) conference</span></strong><span lang="EN-US"> will be held at Fundação Getulio Vargas, in Rio de Janeiro, from the 23^rd to 25^th of June. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-US">The first edition of CPDP LatAm will be dedicated to <strong>Data Protection in Latin America: Democracy, Innovation and Regulation</strong>. See </span><span lang="PT-BR"><a href="http://www.cpdp.lat"><strong><span lang="EN-US">www.cpdp.lat</span></strong></a></span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;" lang="EN-US">The event will have a tripartite structure</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;" lang="EN">, combining the Latin American editions of </span><span lang="PT-BR"><a href="https://www.cpdpconferences.org/"><strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;" lang="EN">CPDP</span></strong></a></span><strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;" lang="EN">,</span></strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;" lang="EN"> the </span><span lang="PT-BR"><a href="https://mydata.org/"><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: blue; text-decoration: none;" lang="EN-US">MyData </span></strong></a></span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;" lang="EN"> conference, and the</span><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: blue;" lang="EN-US">Privacy Law Scholars Conference</span></strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;" lang="EN"> (PLSC), serving </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;" lang="EN-US">as a platform to stimulate discussion, raise awareness and elaborate solutions regarding the most pressing data protection issues for Latin America.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span lang="EN-US">The conference programme will be composed of panels exploring themes suggested by the conference participants and selected by our Multistakeholder Advisory Board, and discussing papers selected by the our Scientific Committee (see, below, our <strong><a href="https://cpdp.lat/en/call-for-papers/">Call for Papers</a></strong>, <strong><a href="https://cpdp.lat/en/call-for-panels/">Call for Panels</a></strong>, and <strong><a href="https://cpdp.lat/en/about-us/">Team</a></strong>). The first day will be dedicated to <strong>multistakeholder debates</strong>. The second day will include the first </span><span lang="EN">MyData </span><strong><span lang="EN-US">Latin American Meeting </span></strong><span lang="EN-US">and will be dedicated to analyzing innovative approaches and technologies that facilitate data protection. The third day will be dedicated to the first <strong>Latin American</strong></span><span lang="EN"> Privacy Law Scholars Conference.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;" lang="EN">As a side event, CPDP LatAm will also include the first <strong>BRICS Data Protection Summit</strong>, on 23 June <a href="https://cyberbrics.info/brics-data-protection-summit/">https://cyberbrics.info/brics-data-protection-summit/</a> </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;" lang="EN">IMPORTANT: <strong>travel grants</strong> will be available for Latin American participants. All those in need of travel support are invited to specify it in the session or paper submission forms. </span></p>
