<p><span lang="EN-GB">The purposes of this study are threefold: </span></p>
<ul>
<li><span lang="EN-GB">highlighting the <strong>potential of community networks</strong> in terms of expanding connectivity and its positive social, cultural and economic externalities; </span></li>
<li><span lang="EN-GB">analysing the <strong>legal frameworks</strong> for CNs in Latin America, considering international law and national legislations; </span></li>
<li><span lang="EN-GB">identifying the policy elements that might optimize the development of CNs and the <strong>regulatory experiences that have allowed removing obstacles</strong> to their full operation. </span></li>
