<div dir="ltr"><span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span class="">Anriette</span> <span class="">Hello</span><span>, hello</span> <span class="">to all,</span> <br><span class=""><br>Here</span> <span class="">attachments</span> <span class="">recommendations of the two</span> <span class="">editions of the</span> <span class="">IGF</span> <span class="">Central Africa</span> <span class="">(</span><span><a href="http://it4all.org/fgi">http://it4all.org/fgi</a></span><span class="">-</span><span>ac/</span><span>)</span><span>.</span> <span class="">Currently</span><span>, ideas</span> <span class="">are brewing</span> <span class="">for</span> <span class="">ECCAS</span> <span class="">(</span><span>Economic Community of</span> <span class="">Central Africa</span><span>), in collaboration</span> <span class="">with the</span> <span class="">regional office</span> <span class="">of the ECA</span> <span class="">is committed to</span> <span class="">bring</span> <span class="">leadership to</span> <span class="">the organization of the</span> <span class="">IGF</span> <span class="">Central Africa</span> <span class="">.</span> <br><span class=""><br>Since 2011,</span> <span class="">we</span> <span class="">have realized</span> <span class="">the problem with</span> <span class="">the institution that</span> <span class="">could have</span> <span class="">the powers of the</span> <span class="">organization</span> <span class="">like</span> <span class="">the</span> <span class="">AfIGF</span> <span class="">which is organized</span> <span class="">by the African</span> <span class="">Union</span> <span class="">with the technical collaboration</span> <span class="">of UNECA</span> <span class="">which houses the</span> <span class="">AfIGF</span> <span class="">secretariat</span> <span class="">in Addis Ababa.</span> <br><span class=""><br>The</span> <span class="">Central Africa</span> <span class="">IGF</span> <span class="">secretariat</span> <span class="">is</span> <span class="">temporarily</span> <span class="">held by</span> <span class="">ANTIC</span> <span class="">(</span><span><a href="http://www.antic.cm">www.antic.cm</a></span><span>) in Cameroon</span> <span class="">but</span> <span class="">is not formally</span> <span class="">recognized by</span> <span class="">the governments of the</span> <span class="">countries of Central</span> <span class="">Africa</span> <span class="">even less</span> <span class="">by ECCAS</span><span>.</span> <br><span class=""><br>It is</span> <span class="">for this reason</span> <span class="">that in 2013</span> <span class="">the</span> <span class="">CAFEC</span><span>,</span> <span class="">in</span> <span class="">collaboration with local</span> <span class="">NGOs,</span> <span class="">hardly</span> <span class="">organized</span> <span class="">the 2013 edition</span><span>.</span> <br><span class=""><br>The</span> <span class="">2014 edition</span> <span class="">still suffers from</span> <span class="">this problem and</span> <span class="">no country</span> <span class="">wants to</span> <span class="">get involved.</span> <span class="">I tried</span> <span class="">several times</span> <span class="">with the Ministry</span> <span class="">in charge of ICT</span> <span class="">and</span> <span class="">the regulatory authority</span><span>.</span> <span class=""><br><br>Apparently, the</span> <span class="">answer is neither</span> <span class="">yes nor</span> <span class="">no, but</span> <span class="">the</span> <span class="">question asked</span> <span class="">what</span> <span class="">gives credibility to</span> <span class="">this approach?</span> <span class="">Because,</span> <span class="">they say,</span> <span class="">globally</span> <span class="">it is the</span> <span class="">United Nations, the</span> <span class="">Africa</span> <span class="">level</span> <span class="">is</span> <span class="">the African Union and</span> <span class="">UNECA</span> <span class="">but</span> <span class="">regionally,</span> <span class="">which</span> <span class="">???</span><span>.</span> <br><span class=""><br>This is the dilemma</span> <span class="">we face in</span> <span class="">Central Africa</span> <span class="">level</span><span>.</span> <span class="">And it</span> <span class="">even</span> <span class="">has an impact</span> <span class="">on national</span> <span class="">IGF</span> <span class="">despite repeated</span> <span class="">pleas</span> <span class="">with</span> <span class="">organized</span> <span class="">as a basis</span> <span class="">the Tunis Agenda</span> <span class="">and organization of</span> <span class="">IGF</span> <span class="">worldwide</span><span>.</span></span><span id="result_box" class="" lang="en"><span class=""></span></span></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr"><b>SCHOMBE BAUDOUIN</b><br><b style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'bookman old style','n     This is making me wonder if we should not start a platform to record
    all the recommendations related to IG that we make?<br>

    Want to compile the African ones Kenyanito :) ?<br>

    E.g. we have now had recommendations coming out of 3 African IGFs,
    not to mention subregional ones.<br>

    I wonder if the IGF would not want to create such a space? The
    current site already provides a space for all contributions into
    open consultations:<br>
