The RIRs are NOT supported and fed by ICANN, in fact, the reverse is<br>
true.  I too was a RIR Policy Working Group Chair and I realised that<br>
during slow times (few or no policy proposals on the table) that<br>
holding meetings was not a futile exercise, as having regular,<br>
coordinated processes are essential to PDPs even when there are no<br>
current policy proposals to discuss.<br>
<br>
ICANN ALWAYS has policy proposals to discuss, in fact there are too<br>
many to keep track of at the moment.<br>
<br>
If you were really concerned about affecting change in this area,<br>
ICANN folks are just now putting together a timetable for the next<br>
round.  Now is not too early to get involved.<br>
