to holding the elections, Mwendwa Kivuva withdrew
leaving only three remaining candidates. Prior to
hosting the elections and preparing ballot papers,
we had to verify and check our subscriber database
to ensure that things were in order prior to sending
the ballot papers. There were some subscribers who
had moved and so had inactive email accounts. We had
to clean these as well. We also noted that there
were some who were subscribe to the mailing list but
did not have IGC accounts by registering on the
site. We received feedback from some of the
subscribers that they did not get ballot papers. The
estimated number of subscribers to the mailing list
is around 600. The estimated number of account
holders who are both subscribed to the mailing list
and have IGC accounts is around 400. The number of
people who voted was 276. During the elections, we
received “Out of Office†responses from a few.</span></p>

style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Â </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span
style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Following
last year’s elections and from feedback from the
community, this year we introduced the abstention
category allowing people to not select a candidate.
To all those who exercised their right to vote or to
abstain, thank you. Special thanks to ALL the
amazing candidates who participated. Special thanks
to Imran Ahmed Shah for his continuous commitment to
make a difference in his community in Pakistan and
also in global forums.</span></p>

strength as you navigate the waters ahead. </span></p>
