parts of civil society push the hegemonic agenda of the USG and
US based transnationals partnership .... even as Snowden
exposures point out to the extra-ordinary collusion between the
USG and these large corporates in promoting their political and
economic interests at the cost of others... And in the IGC we
have even had strong arguments on how private sector needs to
sit as an equal on the policy table... though its obvious that
this can only serve to stall any regulation in the public
interest. <br>

It is unfortunate that these sections of <font face="Verdana">
IG civil society seem oblivious to the danger that perhaps the
biggest threat to the world, its democracy as well its
economic egalitarianism, is the systemic neo-liberalisation of
<font face="Verdana">soc</font>iety. The case <font
face="Verdana">of </font>climate change governance <font
face="Verdana">in which </font> corporates wielding
unprecedented political (not just economic) role and influence
are able to thwart meaningful regulation/policy that is much
needed in global public interest is seen in th<font
face="Verdana">e cited article</font>. Its <font
face="Verdana">e<font face="Verdana">ven more unfortunate
that sections of</font></font> IG civil society are ready
to actively support a<font face="Verdana">nd enable </font>
corporatist governance models (</font><font face="Verdana"><font
face="Verdana">basically </font>'decision making on equal
footing' model<font face="Verdana">)</font> which will ensure<font
face="Verdana"> continuance and further s<font
face="Verdana">trengthening </font>of the
political-economic <font face="Verdana"> heg<font
