The list serves as a platform for civil society actors that are actively engaged in the promotion of global public interest objectives in Internet Governance Policy making. <br><b>Updates and General Information</b><br><ul><li>A NomCom chaired by Independent non-Voting Thomas Lowenhaupt is in the process of selecting a list of Nominees for the selection of MAG.</li><li>A Call for Volunteers to sit on a new NomCom is underfoot.</li>
<li>MAG Consultations are still underfoot for IGC Submissions;</li><li>ITRs Review and Analysis - post WCIT is underfoot;</li><li>Call for comments on WSIS submissions and working group;</li><li>The Appeal Team is in the middle of an interim decision involving the removal of a subscriber from the list;</li>
<li>The Charter will following discussions on the IGC list be put to the Polls for votes.<br></li></ul>In the meantime, we warmly welcome you to the IGC and trust that you have new ideas, new ways of looking at things and bring your experience to make our collaboration on the mailing list a more productive and fruitful one. Feel free to initiate new threads on Internet Governance matters or emerging issues that you feel is significant for the community to be aware of and be informed and involved.<br>
<br><b>Coordinators</b><br><br>The IGC has two Coordinators and we are currently concluding the election of one of the Coordinators and should you have any questions for them, feel free to email them directly on <a href="mailto:coordinators@igcaucus.org">coordinators@igcaucus.org</a> <br>
Their roles are described within the Charter.<br><br><b>Appeal Team</b><br><br>The Appeal Team exists to hear complaints to review decisions made by the Coordinators and its rules are prescribed within the Charter and here: <a href="http://igcaucus.org/appeals-team">http://igcaucus.org/appeals-team</a> <br>
<br><p><strong>Posting Rules for the IGC</strong></p>
<p>Messages to any IGC list must be in line with the mission of the IGC,
particularly its purpose to provide an open and effective forum for
civil society to share opinion, policy options and expertise on Internet
governance issues, and to provide a mechanism for coordination of
advocacy for agreed upon policies and to enhance the utilization and
influence of Civil Society (CS) and the IGC in relevant policy processes
of organizations or fora dealing with Internet Governance issues.</p><p><br>
Appropriate messages to an IGC list contribute to the objectives and tasks of the IGC, particularly: </p>
<p>* To inform civil society and other progressive groups or actors on
significant developments impacting on Internet governance policies.<br>
* To anticipate, identify and address emerging issues in the areas of
Internet governance and help shape issues and perspectives in a manner
that is informed by the stated vision of the IGC<br>
* To develop common positions on issues relating to Internet governance
policies, and make outreach efforts both for informing and for creating
broad-based support among other CS groups and individuals for such
positions. </p>
<p>The messages must observe a minimum of decorum, including:<br>
refrain from personal attacks, insults or slander<br>
refrain from offensive or discriminating language<br>
refrain from threats , including threats of legal action, on list or off list<br>
refrain from excessive and repetitive posting</p>
<p>Inappropriate postings to the IGC list include<br>
Unsolicited bulk e-mail<br>
Discussion of subjects unrelated to the IGC mission and objectives<br>
Unprofessional or discourteous commentary, regardless of the general subject<br>
