</div><br><div></div>Media Note<div>Office of the Spokesperson</div><div>Washington, DC<br></div><div>September 29, 2012</div><br><hr><p></p><div><p>The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), in collaboration with U.S. Embassy Islamabad and <a href="http://www.iearn.org/" target="_blank" style="color:rgb(17,85,204)">iEARN</a>, hosted Youth TechCamp in Islamabad, Pakistan, September 27-29, 2012. A signature series hosted by the State Department to increase digital literacy, Youth TechCamp Pakistan engaged 40 alumni of the <a href="http://yesprograms.org/" target="_blank" style="color:rgb(17,85,204)">Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program</a>.</p>
<p>Youth TechCamp Pakistan encourages young people to engage and contribute to the digital networks and technologies of today’s interconnected world.</p><p>Youth TechCamp Pakistan provided three full days of training with top local technology experts specializing in civic journalism and social activism. Youth TechCamp Pakistan enabled these future leaders to learn how they can leverage connection technologies to make a positive impact in their communities and around the world.</p>
