<P>The panel will address the following two priority themes: </P>
<P><STRONG>Theme I:</STRONG> which is related to the Commission´s mandate
to assist the Economic and Social Council in the follow-up to the outcomes
of the <STRONG>World Summit on the Information Society
(WSIS)</STRONG>:</P>
<UL type=disc>
<LI>Measuring the impact of information and communications technologies
for development.</LI></UL>
<P><STRONG>Theme II:</STRONG> which is related to the Commission´s
traditional mandate on science and technology:</P>
<UL type=disc>
<LI>Technologies to address challenges in areas such as agriculture and
water.</LI></UL>
<P>In addition, the panel will address the follow-up to WSIS. </P>
<P>Findings and recommendations of the panel will be considered at the
<STRONG>14th session of the CSTD</STRONG>, to be held in May
2011.</P> </TD></TR>
