<font face="Verdana">Hi everyone,<br>
<br>
We had 29 responses to the Call for Consensus on the IGC suggestions
for main sessions at the IGF 2010 before the deadline.<br>
<br>
1. NN: 28 yes; 1 no.<br>
2. Development Agenda: 28 yes; 1 no<br>
3. Internet Rights and Principles: 25 yes; 4 no.<br>
<br>
We discussed the statement at the meeting at Les Brasseurs on Monday
evening, with about 25 people in person and up to 9 online if I
remember correctly. It was decided that any changes to the text would
be substantive, so none were made. We agreed that we had consensus on
points 1 and 2, and rough consensus on 3, and that was noted when the
statement was read at the OC meeting.<br>
<br>
We considered possible phrasing in case a discussion arose around theme
3 (IRP), and as a group, most preferred:<br>
<br>
"T</font><font class="font5" face="Verdana">owards globally-applicable
public policy principles</font><font class="font0" face="Verdana">"
which directly uses the words of the Tunis agenda.<br>
<br>
</font><font face="Verdana">and <br>
<br>
“towards defining basic principles for internet governance”.<br>
<br>
However, this did not arise.<br>
<br>
It was suggested that anyone with contacts in other stakeholder groups
communicate with them and ask them to actively support our position.<br>
<br>
The statement will be posted on the IGC website shortly.<br>
<br>
Thanks to everyone for their contributions. If you review the synthesis
paper of contributions, you will see that the IGC contribution was
noted.<br>
<br>
Regards,<br>
