Consensus is not an easy or efficient process. With a large group of
diverse people, it is very difficult to make a strong statement,
because it will not reflect the views of the whole group. For that
reason, some of us choose to make separate individual or organizational
statements.<br>

I think that Jeremy and those who have participated in this process
deserve to be recognized for their work to reach agreement on this
statement. It would have been worth it even if it only says "The IGC
strongly supports the continuation of the IGF", if that's all we agree
upon.<br>
<br>
Input from all regions is not only accepted, it is encouraged. If it is
not apparent, we cannot obligate members to post.<br>

outreach and Asian input was negligible. I only noticed "out of Africa"
participation but nothing "from" Africa.</div>

appointment by status quo supporters.</div>

critical of the old guard and a definite slant toward self and elite

statement. No this is not a "great" job. It is in fact a very bad job.<br>
