not have a URL or link. They have a meeting room, where the people from
that locality --such as Buenos Aires, Argentina -- will meet and
discuss IG issues in parallel with the formal IGF. The remote
connection is between their meeting room and the formal IGF meeting, so
they can have input into the meeting, such as questions or
interventions. People from around the world do not participate in their
remote hub. The people in Buenos Aires do.<br>

To join a remote hub, one writes to the organizers at the email

serves as a stimulus or a starting point for the debate of local issues

larger </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">local and regional </span></font><span
style="font-family: Arial;"><font color="#000000">community gathered

style="font-family: Arial;"><font color="#000000">2. <b>Raises
awareness. </b>As
a consequence of an increased visibility, society in general becomes
more aware of the importance of the subject. Civil Society plays an
important role in getting in touch with possible stakeholders (NGO’s,
politicians, government representatives, economic sector, academics,
etc.) and convincing them of the importance of the subject and of their
presence by being involved in the process.</font><o p=""></o></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><span
style="font-family: Arial;"><font color="#000000">3. <b>Favors
commitment</b>.
When a person watches a broadcasted meeting alone, he/she feels free to
drop out anytime and may never be involved with the subject again. When
she is in the company of others and discusses the subject with them a
sense of commitment with the group is fostered.</font><o p=""></o></span></p>

style="font-family: Arial;"><font color="#000000">4. <b>Favors
community building. </b>This sense of commitment can evolve into a

This is one excellent way to attend the IGF remotely, if you don't want
to attent "alone" from your office or home.<br>

has been assigned booth 21 in the Village Square. Does anyone have

statement we should print up to give out? Or a half-page flyer about

Also: Who else will be attending by Remote Participation besides Hong
