The problem is that the mailing list software munges the message (adding a footer, I think) so that the digital signature no longer matches.  The solution is either to do the munging differently, or remove the signature.  I'll work on one of these as time permits, but in the meantime, people should avoid sending S/MIME-signed email to the list.
