[governance] FW: Yahoo shutting down delicious!

I haven't used Del.icio.us myself recently but I would guess a number of
folks on this list have...

So this will be very bad news for them.  
 
It also raises the obvious question that Internet based functionalities may
be too important to be left to the whims and financial fortunes of private
companies (think about say gmail or email over all and whether it should not
be treated as a public service in the way that snail mail used to be
treated.
