<p>I know this might be an unusual request and not focused on
Internet Governance, I post it here since two of the classes they
are looking for Teachers are ones that people on this list are
interested in. One on human rights and the other is on Free
Speech. If you know people who might be interested , please let me
know and I will tell my friend Rachel. <br>

Due to sudden illness, Purchase College is seeking to hire an
instructor(s) to teach the following courses for fall 2018:

<p> West Meets the Non-West<br>
08/27/18-12/14/18 MR 12:30pm-02:10pm <br>
An examination of historical events, social movements, and
intellectual ideas that have shaped modernity from 1500 to the
present. The focus is on the evolution of ideas that have
influenced both Western and non-Western civilizations. </p>
<p> Human Rights and Literature <br>
08/27/18-12/14/18 W 03:00pm-06:40pm <br>
An exploration of various perspectives on human rights. Students
examine some modern nation states in relation to geographies of
identity and human rights. Global literature is read in colonial
and postcolonial contexts that describe state control through
the infringement of citizenship and rights of speech, thus
violating basic human rights. </p>
<p> Free Speech, Heresy, and Gender in Islamic Societies <br>
08/27/18-12/14/18 MR 02:30pm-04:10pm <br>
In Islamic societies, heresy charges against women and men are
leveled for different reasons, including Islamists’ opposition
to democracy, modernity, and women’s education and their
employment. Instances of heresy leveled by Muslims against
Muslims are studied. </p>

<p> Purchase College is a small Liberal Arts and Arts college
within the SUNY system in NY. It is located in Westchester
County, not far from White Plains, and can be reached via Metro
North (local commuter rail).</p>
