Dear all,
The UN General Assembly's 3rd committee passed a resolution on the right
to privacy in the digital age yesterday. The resolution will be
officially adopted by UNGA next month, but from here it's just
procedural. The resolution was adopted by consensus, at some cost. But
there is good text there, building on last year, and new language
encouraging the Human Rights Council to consider the creation of a
special procedure on the right to privacy.
Here is APC's statement on the resolution: <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.apc.org/en/node/20029">https://www.apc.org/en/node/20029</a>
And statements from Brazil and Germany, which led this resolution
